Hi, I’m Kim. I am the creative spirit behind Studio Sprig at Windy Hill. Here, I explore garden projects, home design, special event floral styling, stationery designing, and the arts of illustration and surface pattern design. With the help of my 19th-century farmhouse and its many gardens, I share my inspirations here so please join me on this journey, one project at a time.
My Story
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communications, I began my Art Direction career in New York City. Throughout my graphic design career, I worked for brands like San Pellegrino, Binney & Smith, and B.Braun Medical.
After a few years in the city, I moved to Bucks County, PA, started a family, and began freelancing under Kim Bensing Design. Here I found a design niche in creating award-winning stationery for events. I was hired by couples to creatively tell their love story by converting the message into their wedding invitation. My story-sharing design approach eventually led to features in The Knot, The Bucks Herald, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Intelligencer, Lehigh Valley STYLE, and Bucks County Woman. I also created interesting marketing pieces for corporate clients like Lancome Paris. Here is an example of some of my wedding work as seen in this article by Southern Bride.

A Sprig of an Idea
In 2015, my wedding and event clients began to ask if I would design artistic florals to accompany their stationery designs. I did some research and reached out to local flower growers asking them what I needed to learn. I was very interested in learning this new skill set because I was living on a 19th-century farm with many heirloom gardens, so I soon introduced sustainable floral design to my event clientele.
In 2016 I pulled my Art Direction Studio and this newfound love of florals under one roof and named the business Studio Sprig.
Always growing
I started small, designing florals for holidays and taking a few special orders, but it didn’t take long before the beautiful flowers I was sourcing began to speak for themselves. I worked closely with local flower farmers while marketing my business and growing flowers, herbs, and greenery on my farm.
Studio Sprig has been growing rapidly ever since, and now I am excited to add that I am incorporating Fine Art, Surface Pattern Designs, Fabric and Wallpaper design, and a creative Blog into Studio Sprig 2025. Thank you for visiting.
