I am sure it’s no surprise that one of my favorite annual events is The Philadelphia Flower Show. It takes place each year, usually in early March, in the Philadelphia Convention Center at 1101 Arch Street. The Flower Show starts this weekend and I cannot wait to go, so if you are searching for something to do this weekend to alleviate the winter blues, nothing compares to The Flower Show.

Our Nation’s History
Did you know it is our nation’s largest and longest-running horticultural event? It began in 1829, when the Philadelphia Horticultural Society launched the country’s first public flower show at the Masonic Hall.
creative Themes
I always enjoy the artist’s interpretations of themes and I spend my time there appreciating the extensive planning that goes into the designs. I thought it would be interesting to take a look back in time at the many Flower Show Themes. I’ve included the themes as far back as 2000. Janet Evans compiled this list and it goes back to 1960, if you’re interested in seeing the full list click here.
